Question of meaning and study of beliefs

Abstract
An interesting international bibliographic production is growing in two fields that are surely quite connected: the studies about the ‘meaning of life’ and those devoted to the study of beliefs, their structure and processes. This article offers a review of these publications and attempts to establish a relationship between both research fields, which include multidisciplinary analysis. The thesis that is proposed is that beliefs are essential elements to build a life meaning or to give a purpose to one's own existence, although they are not the only elements, and there is a need to better understand their functions. These studies clearly show great theological relevance.
