Abstract

In the 1970s, postmodernism became popular as an influential movement in the artistic, cultural and fi eld of fi eld. Today, three decades later, postmodernism is no longer only influential in the elite world of culture, but also in the lives of young people. Data from various surveys show that the concerns of young people are the present and the small world around them; beyond that, their preoccupation seems to disappear. Hence, we can say that post-modernity has become everyday life and its influence is manifested in the very attitudes and values of society. In this article, Professor Jiménez Ortiz takes a look at the keys that could help today's young people to consider the meaning of life. Through his analysis, he shows us how today's young people have taken as their points of reference values that prevent them from opening up to questions of meaning. Faced with this situation, he proposes some experiences that could help to break down this wall of meaninglessness.
