From the integral development of man to the integral ecology. Comparative analysis of the concepts of integral development of man (Populorum Progressio, Pablo VI,1967) and of integral ecology (Laudato Si’, Francisco, 2015)
Main Article Content
Abstract
Theology has continued to incorporate to its theological wealth the different challenges to which humanity has gone facing along, starting from the Pontifical Teaching, and in the years sixty the world faced, among others, the issue of development. Pope Paul VI published the encyclical Populorum Progressio (PP), 1967, in the wake of the Second Vatican Council, by which the Catholic Church intended to look face to face at the world, and to openly dialogue with some of the modern currents of thought. Development, in order that it may be human, cannot be only one–dimensional, for example, in the field of economic growth, but the whole man and all men have to see themselves affected by the development. The whole man makes reference to the integrity of the development, while all men, refers to its universality.
