Abstract

Nonprofit entities not only comprise the major part of volunteer work, but also represent a significant proportion of paid work in some specific sectors. Knowing the factors that determine the involvement of these employees is of great importance in nonprofit organizations, given their inability to compete with respect to the working conditions in public institutions and private companies. This study, conducted using a sample of employees in the nonprofit sector, shows, by means of a logistic regression mode, that it is employees with a higher level of training and a permanent contract who are more likely to be employed in these entities, as base employees who are not in positions of managerial responsibility and who are used to working in a team in an activity that generates feelings of stress.
