A stamp for Fair–Trade Products in Spain: opportunity and threat
Main Article Content
Abstract
In view of the recent creation in Spain of an Association to promote and encourage the use of a guarantee stamp for products commercialised under conditions of greater social fairness, this article presents a critical description of the process undergone and the different stances adopted, in the light of the concept and final aims of fair trade. Based on an assessment of the pros and cons of using a stamp, the authors defend its appropriateness and the advisability of backing a concept of fair trade that seeks points in common with conventional trade.
