The social responsibility of the enterprise

Abstract
The aim of this paper is not an exhaustive analysis of the social responsibility of the enterprise, a complex current issue that deserves much attention. Rather, the adopted approach studies the issue of social responsibility as an open process. Such an approach allows an assessment of what has been done and a presentation of some outstanding questions or challenges that the enterprise has to confront. As the concern for business ethics has arrived in Europe from North America, we should wonder what specific contribution to the concept of enterprise, its role in society and its own running our European culture can make.
