The process of regionalisation in Morocco

Abstract
An analysis is given of the process of regionalisation begun in Morocco, whose starting point was a speech given by King Hassan II, a proposal that was contemplated in the 1996 Constitution and the 1997 Regional Bill. This process is of a decentralising nature and lacks recognition of autonomy. So there is a clear difference from the organisation of the Spanish State in autonomous communities. The distinction between regionalisation and regionalism is used. It refers to the present situation of regions, alluding to their representation in the second chamber and their scarce authority. It also insists on the possibilities of greater democratisation stemming from this organisation of a regional nature
