Abstract

In this edition’s editorial, the subject of teaching social initiative is tackled, attempting to supply arguments to answer two basic questions: what fundamental causes justify the existence of the teaching of social initiative (the very name explains and justifies itself), and under what conditions should the corresponding right be put into effect. It is intentional that on this occasion the article be limited to the sphere of principles, postponing to a later article the debate on such current and controversial aspects such as how to finance the teaching, the criteria applied for learner selection etc. Once more, the ultimate intention is to introduce reflection and dialogue on questions that are sometimes treated with sectarianism, passion or superficiality.
