Challenges to NGODs from Asia. Capitalism and subordination
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article presents an analysis of the socio–economic and political changes in recent years that directly or indirectly determine the role of Non Governmental Organisations for Development (NGOD) today. As its title indicates, the article deals with the Asian, and more specifically the Indian, perspective: a context that is specially sensitive and critical. The author endeavours to get a simple message across: we are witnessing changes of universal proportions that are going to have a profound affect on NGOD and therefore we need to renew our approaches to the future of these organisations. A future that should be based on a clear ‘political’ standing that reveals and condemns the enormous disparities of power at both national and international levels.
