A crossroads for the co–operative movement: internal and external challenges
Main Article Content
Abstract
Certain thinkers maintain that the boom the co–operative movement is experiencing in western cultures can be taken to be a reflection of the power that members of society on the whole maintain in opposition to the two other dominant forces: market and state. This article, based on a paper presented at a conference organised by an association within the health sphere, suggests certain tendencies which can influence its development, not only from the point of view of the relationship with other agents –principally the State– but also with regard to its internal resources, its members and its management.
