Abstract

In previous volumes we have been offering the statements of the salmanticenses of the XVI century, about the tenth article of question ten, of the Secunda Secundae of Saint Thomas Aquinas, where it appears the issue whether it appertains to His Holiness the arrangement of the creed; that is to say: whether it is to Peter´s successor to whom it belongs to redact a new article of faith. Among what has been bequeathed to posterity by Saint Thomas, it has certainly been this tenth article the one which has concentrated the attention of the XVI century salmanticences, since the year 1526 up to 1552, between Francisco de Vitoria and Domingo de las Cuevas. It started dealing here about the primacy of the Pope. Then it was taught that infallibility belongs to the Pope, whether he would jointly act with the General Council, or without the General Council. Formerly, it has been talked as well of the authority of the Church. Finally, in this article, it is being dealt about the authority of the Holy Scripture
