Abstract
The text transcribed and translated below, preserved in a copy on silk belonging to the ancient collection of the library of the Faculty of Theology of Loyola University, comes from what was once the Jesuit college of Santa Catalina in Córdoba. It is a thesis in theology defended on 6 February 1759. The nineteen ‘theological conclusions’ that articulate the development of this academic exercise are written in scholastic Latin, which is simple but saturated with technical vocabulary. It should be noted that the author does not explicitly cite any authority other than St Augustine. Otherwise, he draws on the scholastic tradition as received by Baroque theology, with St Thomas Aquinas as his main reference and, in the Jesuit sphere, a marked influence from Suarez.
