Thinking the European Theology from the reverse side of History

Abstract
In our contribution we want to think about theological work in Europe from the perspective of liberation theology. First of all, we present some elements that characterise the reception of liberation theology in Europe. Then, on the basis of the way of doing theology proposed by the Peruvian theologian Gustavo Gutiérrez, we present a re-reading of the theological task in Europe. This undertaking will be carried out from the reverse side of history because Gutiérrez makes use of this perspective to elaborate a characterisation of Latin American theology that at the same time allows for the characterisation of European developments. Finally, we highlight challenges for European theology today.
