The Big city rethinks and challenges the urban pastoral towards the city of Mercy

Abstract
In this article we reflect on the challenges that the big cities pose today to the evangelizing mission of the church. It is proposed to take the city as a theological place and address it from the poor, in the first instance. From there announce the Gospel of the compassion, capable of responding to social injustice and approach other current challenges such as the autonomy of terrestrial realities, cultural and religious plurality, the reality of women, the environmental problem and the urgent conversion pastoral and ecclesial to which Pope Francis has called. In short, it is proposed to build cities where the compassion is the transforming principle of reality.
