Abstract

This article seeks to identify with the word “ecclesiocentrismo” a problematic tendency of some Catholic communities to convert themselves into their own "center", and so leave obscured the Christological center of the Church. The point of view is that of the evangelical counsels which, if they are really lived, help one to remain in this center. After defining in what sense one can speak of ecclesial Christocentrism, the article goes on to describe the said problem, with several recent examples of Catholic communities or movements, whose authentic charism could suffer in its fruitfulness because of this ecclesiocentric orientation. Finally, the path of evangelical poverty is again proposed as necessary in order to abide in the Catholic viewpoint.
