Abstract

This article reports the relatively recent appearance of an increasing body of specialized bibliography which proves and studies the relationship between the German philosopher Martin Heidegger (1898-1976) and some of the great classical philosophies in Asia, especially Taoism and Zen Buddhism, as well as some renowned contemporary Japanese philosophers, most of them belonging to the circle of the Kyoto School. As to the different readings for that relationship, we propose here the thesis of a ‘convergence’ between Heidegger’s second philosophy and Asian thought.
