The Black legend of the Jesuits

Abstract
The author presents in this article what can be called the “Jesuits’ black legend”. First he tries to establish a typology of anti-Jesuit writings with some examples of these productions: forgeries, tendency writings, literary fictions, controversial and critical writings. Later he analyzes some common topics in this type of literature. Protestants go to some supposed sexual deviations and promiscuity to discredit their opponents, especially the Jesuits. Regarding the whole body of the Society of Jesus the most common accusation is the desire of richness and powerconsultant organ of the Magisterium.
