Radio ECCA: a peculiar medium

Abstract
Radio ECCA initiated in 1964 from an idea of Fr. Villén Lucena S.J. with the efficient cooperation of a group of teachers, authorities and the help of different people engaged in the civil world. In the beginning Radio ECCA was started to explicitly broadcast programmes related to education; nevertheless as a radio station, ECCA also programmed emissions focused to its scope: a cultural and helpful Radio. In this article Radio ECCA is placed in the context of the actual Spanish broadcasting and it is explained what is intending and doing to present how the Society of Jesus accomplishes its mission and responsibility in this task.
