Religious life continues to face its future
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article was born from the general existing nowadays desire of finding a reasonable explanation to the current shortage of vocations to the religious life or the priesthood, with concern so insistent in these moments in the countries of the developed world. The first hint gave it to me an intervention of the F. Pedro Arrupe before the Union of General Superiors May 30 1974. When reading the considerations that it considered pertinent, it mentioned an article of the P. Karl Rahner, four years old before, in that approached the same topic, centered in this case in the possible future of the Society of Jesus. These data, together with the apostolic exhortation Vita Consecrata, moved me to present my own considerations on the topic.
