Unity in diversity Understanding the current ecumenical moment (I)
Main Article Content
Abstract
The ecumenical movement has experienced different moments in recent decades. The interest of the various Christian churches in it is, however, undoubted. In recent months there have been a number of meetings at the highest level (Pope Benedict XVI and the Patriarch of Constantinople met in Istanbul and Archbishop of Canterbury R. Williams and Benedict XVI in Rome). This article aims to illuminate these meetings from a historical and theological perspective, highlighting the attitude of the Catholic Church towards the ecumenical movement and the major ecclesiological themes that are embedded in the dialogue between the Churches.
