When we talk about ‘biological evolution’, what evolution are we talking about? Theological implications

Abstract

For many believers in our world, the Christian idea of ‘creation’ is incompatible with the scientists' idea of ‘evolution’. And this is not only in Spain today, but also in the rest of the world for many years. In this article, Professor Sequeiros presents readers with the history of the interpretation of the concept of ‘biological evolution’ throughout the history of scientific thought and attempts to clarify the theological implications of these interpretations. At a time when the debate on so-called Intelligent Design is in full swing, it is useful to clarify ideas and concepts in order to position oneself correctly as a believer in the forums where the debate takes place.
