In the society of strength or weakness? From the jungle of desires to the personal experience of God
Main Article Content
Abstract
In the present work, Professor Jiménez continues his interesting reflection on postmodernity and youth, on which he has already offered us other articles. In the present issue he approaches the question from a pastoral perspective: how can we help today's young people to mature and integrate their life experience? Starting from the classical notion of the virtue of fortitude and, aware of the distance that separates post-modern society from the cultural paradigm in which the notion was forged, the author shows a series of signs of fortitude that can be discovered in the society in which we live: youth volunteering, sports training, cultivation of hobbies... An educational and pastoral action that knows how to read in these signs the value of otherness as a reason that leads to renounce and modulate one's own desire, is a challenge that we should also take advantage of in order to favour the personal experience of God.
