On the centenary of Karl Rahner Reflections on his life and thought
Main Article Content
Abstract
Karl Rahner was born one hundred years ago. The so-called "best Catholic theologian" of the 20th century has been a man who has marked the faith process of many Christians. It is impossible to summarise his work in a few pages, but it is possible to point out some of the most fundamental features of his teaching (at least from the perspective of his pastoral influence): his insistence on the possibility of the immediate experience of God; his concentration on Christology and the incarnation, which make possible the opening of man to God; his thoughtful ecclesiality.... These features, and the way in which they were lived and reflected upon by Rahner, continue to be a beacon of light for the faith of many men and women today.
