The great Awakening (I)
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this article, the author, a professor of Philosophy of Religion, provides a detailed introduction to the religious phenomenon that has come to be known as the "Great Awakening". This phenomenon has much to do with the current physiognomy of North American Protestantism. Sánchez Nogales offers in this work -and in a second one to be published in the next issue of this journal- both the historical framework and the theological background that characterise revivalism. This provides one more piece of information that can help to understand the emerging alternative religiosity of our time.
