Abstract

The Chilean moralist Tony Mifsud proposes a theological foundation for the close relationship between morality and spirituality. Reducing Christian spirituality to ethical praxis and spiritualising morality to the point of rendering it ineffective have been false ways of articulating the relationship between the two. Charity, as embodied by Jesus of Nazareth, is the space of convergence for Christian spirituality and ethics. In this convergence, ethics will be marked by three features: the Trinitarian, the following of Christ and gratuitousness.
