Abstract
After a necessary overview of Pope Francis's social thought, this article focuses on the 2020 encyclical on fraternity and social friendship, Fratelli tutti. Situated in its context, it is clear that the encyclical emphasizes not so much innovation, as Pope Francis did in Laudato si' (2015), but rather certain core elements of Christian social teaching that are more relevant today.
