Evangelize the unconscious. A proposal by Pierre Ganne

Abstract
These pages present Pierre Ganne's thinking on possible paths to the evangelization of the unconscious, drawing on philosophical and theological traditions. First, the Jesuit theologian's ideas on this topic are presented. Next, the meaning of the concept of the unconscious in its appearance in modern philosophy and its significance in psychoanalysis are examined. Then, Ganne's discernment regarding the unconscious conditioning of the Christian conscience today is explored, followed by some ideas to facilitate the evangelization of the unconscious. Since evangelization is a work of faith, the text finally draws on the theological tradition of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which pertain to the whole person.
