The Qumran Community

Main Article Content

José Luis Sicre Díaz

Abstract

The Qumran texts and community have been the subject of great interest in recent years, yet many people do not have a clear idea of what this important Jewish group sought to achieve. The texts selected by the author—drawn largely from the “Rule of the Community,” though supplemented with additional information—offer an overview of the ideals and way of life of this community. At the end, there is an extensive bibliography on the current state of research regarding the Qumran discoveries.
