The Universality of Christianity Amid Cultural Diversity
Main Article Content
Abstract
If the humanistic and emancipatory legacy that constitutes the best—the universalizable aspect—of the Western Enlightenment owes much to the Judeo-Christian tradition, which is one of its foundational pillars, the Church cannot now overlook the contributions stemming from a dialogical rationality. The contributions of the best Enlightenment universalism, in addition to helping the Church renew its constitutive Christian identity amid the cultural diversity of its voices, are also useful for better articulating the universal validity of its offer of salvation.
