This issue includes several of the research papers that were awarded prizes in the last two editions of the Call for Papers initiative of the institutions of the Central American Integration System (SICA). The aim of this collaboration is to make visible the conviction of the importance and potential of regional integration processes in the advancement of the societies that make them up, especially (as in the case of Central America) when they involve developing countries. This issue is also a further reflection of the close collaboration between the Journal and the ETEA Foundation, as the Development Institute of the Loyola Andalucía University, a strategic partner of this Call for Papers.
