The last inventory of the temple of the Colegio de San Pablo in Granada
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this work we edit and publish a document belonging to a private collection. For the first time, the inventory made in 1771 of the old temple that belonged to the regulars of the Society of Jesus comes to light. Thanks to this direct testimony, we will be able to know the decoration as close as possible to the one left by the Jesuits when they left in 1767, after the royal pragmatic of Charles III. It gives us not only the number of altarpieces that we can find, but also the original iconographic elements, which will help us to understand the iconological message of the temple, as well as the great wealth of vestments and jewels that made up the great sacristy as well as the smaller chapels.
