Hugo de San Victor" The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit
Main Article Content
Abstract
Professor Carmelo Granado Bellido takes up again in this issue the work of translating the works of the great medieval spiritual authors with the presentation of "The Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit". This is a small work by Hugo of St. Victor, one of the great personalities of the 12th century, who trained and developed all his theological work in the monastery of St. Victor, which must be counted among the most lively and fruitful centres of European ecclesiastical life in the High Middle Ages. Starting from the promise in Lk 11:13 "The Father will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him", the Victorine presents a profound consideration of the third person: of his role in the spiritual life of the believer, of his benefits and operations.
